HC Deb 02 July 1979 vol 969 c428W
Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what study he has made of the work carried out by the Cannock trades council in the price survey field and whether he plans to continue the small grant made to facilitate the carrying out of this survey.

Mrs. Sally Oppenheim

I announced my decision to discontinue Government supports for local price surveys with effect from 1 July in my reply of 18 May to my hon. Friend the Member for Northwich (Mr. Goodlad). I explained that the general levels of awareness and use of these surveys no longer justified this support.
