asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the proposed programme of the United Kingdom Association for the International Year of the Child for which he granted £125,000.

The Government grant is for the expenses of the association's headquarters and its committees in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The association's proposed programme is as follows:

January Launch of the year at matinee performance of "The Gingerbread Man", Old Vic.

January Charity football match in aid of International Year of the Child: Nottingham Forest v. Penarol—Uruguay—City Ground. Thousands of free tickets for children.

January Launch of nationwide competition for children, Blue Peter, BBC Television.

January Launch of "Spiritual Rights of the Child" seminars, Thomas Coram Foundation, Brunswick Square, London.

January Launch of parliamentary panel.

February Publication of report on parenthood—National Women's Commission. Launch of IYC project for schools. "Policies for Children" pamphlet published by Trades Union Congress.

March National Association for Gifted Children—day of exhibitions and sponsored activities.

April Christian Aid art/poetry exhibition opens tour at Sheffield Cathedral.

21–29 April International children's appeal in support of IYC at Festival of Mind-Body-Spirit, Olympia. IYC children's Parliament, Church House, Westminster.

April toMay International festival of children's theatre, Young Vic.

May Start of National Children's Home/BBC Series on parenthood and family life.
