§ Mr. Ronald Bellasked the Secretary of State for Trade what has been the effect of the Iraqi boycott on British goods and what steps he is taking to minimise the damage caused to British trade.
§ Mr. MeacherIt is too early for the full effect of the boycott to have appeared in the export figures, but several companies have reported that they have lost business in Iraq and we take a very serious view of the damage being caused to United Kingdom trade. Representations to the Iraqi Government have accordingly been made at ministerial level in London and by Her Majesty's Ambassador in Baghdad.
