§ Mr. Corbettasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will list the matters which come within the responsibility of a joint consultative committee for health service workers and give details of the intended membership of such committees.
§ Mr. Moyle, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 25 January 1979; Vol. 961, c. 246], gave the following information:
Joint consultative machinery between National Health Service staff and management and the subjects appropriate to discussion by that machinery are matters for agreement between representatives of both sides. The general principles of consultation outlined in paragraphs 46 and 47 of chapter 11 of the Lord McCarthy's report "Making Whitley Work" offer a framework within which joint consultation can be conducted.
