Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Employment further to his reply, Official Report, 16 January, c. 701, if he will provide an annual breakdown of the total number of employees who received payments and the cost to the redundancy fund, and the respective annual totals of male and female employees involved.

An annual breakdown of the numbers of employees who received payments under the Redundancy Payments Act 1965 and the approximate cost to the redundancy fund in rebates to employers and direct payments to employees is given below.

Separate figures for male and female employees are not available.
