§ Dr. Edmund Marshallasked the Secretary of State whether he will make a statement about progress in the repair work at Boothferry bridge on the A614 trunk road.
§ Mr. HoramA major repair and modernisation of this bridge at a cost of £1 million is being undertaken in stages and will last a further two years. At present it is hoped to resume single lane traffic working in about a month and two-way traffic should be permitted in about four months. It will be necessary to close the bridge from time to time to carry out certain key phases of the work. On these occasions pedestrians and other traffic which cannot use the motorway will be "ferried" across by means of special buses.
