§ 19. Mr. Bendallasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is considering increasing the figure at which stamp duty on house purchase should commence; and how much revenue has been collected from stamp duty on house purchase over the last 12 months.
§ Mr. Denzil Davies:Stamp duty is one among the many matters that my right hon. Friend will be considering as part of the usual review of taxation preparatory to his Budget proposals. For the year to September 1978 about £100 million has been collected in stamp duty on purchases of residential property.
