§ Mr. Tebbitasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the total overseas debt of Her Majesty's Government and United Kingdom public sector bodies, including both foreign currency borrowing and sterling debt, at the end of 1978 or at the latest date for which information is available.
§ Mr. Robert Sheldon:At end-1977, the latest date for which complete information is available, the United Kingdom public sector's total external liabilities, in both foreign currency and sterling, amounted to £18,150 million.
