§ Mr. Horam:No recent proposals on these lines have been put to my right hon. Friend but he has seen the ideas which have recently been published. Nothing in them suggests either that such a route could satisfactorily serve the needs for which the M25 has been designed or that the latter scheme, much of which is already under construction or due to start within the next year or so, is not needed at the earliest possible date.
