§ Mr. John:The most recent estimates by local authorities of total expenditure eligible for grant under section 11 of the Local Government Act 1966 during 1978–79 suggest that this is likely to reach approximately £37.75 million; of this about 86 per cent. represents expenditure on education staff. Grant is payable at the rate of 75 per cent. of audited claims.
