§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will give an estimate of the rise in the cost of living as a result of the increase in the price of oil, as proposed by the OPEC conference.
§ Mr. Harold Walker:It is estimated that the increase in the price of crude oil proposed at the recent OPEC conference, 14½ per cent. phased over the next 12 months, will eventually add just over one half of 1 per cent. to the retail prices index.
