asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will now raise with the United Nations the need to initiate a scheme for the resettlement of refugees from Vietnam.

Mr. Luard:

As I explained in the debate on 15th December, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is doing his utmost to find resettlement places for these refugees. I took part in the consultations called by the High Commissioner in Geneva last month to consider solutions to the problem.
