§ 21. Mr. Michael Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will now give details of the next steps which the five Western démarche powers in the contact group propose to take following the recent election in South-West Africa (Namibia).
§ 24. Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what further action through the Security Council is now contemplated by the five Western powers to secure the termination of the illegal occupation of Namibia by South African forces.
§ Dr. Owen:The Five are actively supporting the Secretary-General's efforts to promote an internationally acceptable settlement. His representative is now visiting Namibia and South Africa for consultations with the South African Government and the Administrator 769W General. The intention is to begin the deployment of United Nations Transitional Assistance Group in Namibia by the end of February.
