§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Industry how much so far has been spent or committed by the National Research Development Corporation on support for the microelectronics 811W industry or the application of microelectronic technology; and how much more money the corporation has available to spend in this field.
§ Mr. Les Huckfield:The National Research Development Corporation has supported various microelectronics projects since 1968–69. Some information about them is given in the corporation's annual reports, which are available in the Library. Financial details are commercially confidential, and are a matter for the corporation. I understand that the NRDC would welcome further applications for the support of developments in microelectronics, and that funds are available for suitable projects.
