Baroness BIRK: I regret that the only information available by county of the amounts received in grants and loans from the European Communities is in respect of loans from the European Investment Bank and loans to the British Steel Corporation from the European Coal and Steel Community. This information is detailed below. The total amount received by the United Kingdom from each fund for each year since accession is as follows:—
the benefits of the loan by county, either because the project benefits the whole or most of the United Kingdom, or because it straddles regional or county boundaries.
