asked the Secretary of State for Transport why there are no speed advisory signals on the M62 motorway to the east of the M1.

This section of the M62 is in the rolling programme.

The works on the Lofthouse to Whitley bridge section are in hand and commissioning is anticipated in July 1979. The Whitley bridge to Caves interchange is scheduled for commissioning in 1981.
