§ 26. Mr. David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Industry what is his estimate of the loss of output throughout British industry in January, as a result of the various strikes and industrial disputes experienced throughout Great Britain in that month.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldOn the basis of early reports from industry it is estimated that about 10 per cent. of normal manufacturing production may have been lost in January as a result of the transport dispute. Some of the loss is likely to be made good with the return to normal conditions. It is not thought that any other dispute in January has significantly affected manufacturing production as a whole.
