asked the Minister of Overseas Development what has been the total amount of British aid in grants and loans offered, allocated or provided to Mozambique since that country's independence.

Signed loan agreements total £22–5 million. Signed agreements for food aid, as part of the British national action under the European Community programme, cover 32,500 tonnes. In addition to signed agreements for bilateral technical, cooperation costing about £2.8 million, small amounts of disaster relief and other technical co-operation have been pledged or provided, or are under discussion. Disbursements of bilateral development assistance are as follows:
