HC Deb 13 February 1979 vol 962 c492W
Mr. George Rodgers

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement about the recent nonferrous metals mission to the People's Republic of China which was led by officials from his Department.

Mr. Varley

In addition to officials from my Department, the mission contained representatives from six British companies and the Institute of Geological Sciences. Encouraging technical and commercial discussions were held in Beijing (Peking) about possible collaboration on a wide range of mining and processing projects, and visits were paid to several sites. The results of the discussions are set out in a minute of agreement, copies of which I am placing in the Library.
