§ Mr. Peter Morrisonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied that the present distribution of consultant and registrar posts in the Mersey regional health authority is equitable and 398W meets the growing needs of the people of Cheshire.
§ Mr. MoyleThe distribution of medical posts within the region is a matter for the Mersey regional health authority. The authority has told me that it is aware of a certain degree of imbalance and it has begun a review of establishments to correct this by redeployment within the region. Cheshire area health authority has already been allocated two extra registrar posts in obstetrics and gynaecology.
