§ Mr. Maurice Macmillanasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list in the Official Report the total payments of corporation tax made in each of the past 10 years by (a) manufacturing and commercial companies and (b) financial companies.
§ Mr. Denzil Davies,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 8 February 1979] gave the following information:
I regret that payments of corporation tax are not analysed by the industry of the company making payment, although an analysis by industry of the tax assessed each year on profits is published in Inland Revenue Stataistics. The latest figures of this kind are for 1974—Inland Revenue Statistics 1978, Table 3.3.
