§ Mr. DeakinsAt the suggestion of my Department, the alcoholics recovery project applied for, and received, a grant of £15,000 from the EEC Social Fund. This represents about 25 per cent. of the annual cost of the "New Careers" scheme; under this pilot project, recovered alcoholics train as social workers to help alcoholics.
