§ Mr. Ovendenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action he has taken in response to the recommendations of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration in his report on the complaint by the Kent Rights of Way Council against his Department's delay in dealing with public inquiries into the Kent draft revised map.
§ Mr. MarksThe severe staff restraints referred to in the recommendations of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration remain, but we are considering whether some staff can be made available to deal with this work. The Kent review is only one of a number affected. We expect shortly to send to interested bodies a consultation document dealing with the problems and setting out the Department's proposals for overcoming them.
