§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what increase in net spending power a man with a wife and two children would receive if in November 1978 he was earning £50, £60, £70, £80, £90 or £100 a week and in January 1979 he received (a) a 5 per cent. increase in earnings, or (b) an increase of £3.50 per week.
