HC Deb 06 February 1979 vol 962 cc101-2W
Mr. Ian Lloyd

asked the Lord President of the Council (1) when he intends to make arrangements which will offer hon. Members access to the databanks which are now available on-line in Western Europe and North America;

(2) whether he will ask the Computer Sub-Committee of the Services Committee to report before the end of the present Session on the data-processing facilities and allowances now available to members of other legislatures and to make recommendations on the facilities and allowances considered appropriate for hon. Members.

Mr. Foot

I have referred both of the hon. Member's suggestions to the Computer Sub-Committee, which, in co-operation with another place and with the assistance of the newly appointed computer development officer, is considering what computer developments should take place in parliament in the years ahead.
