§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsThe Education (Work Experience) Act 1973 enables work experience to be provided as part of any pupil's education during the last year of compulsory schooling. Local education authorities were asked to report on the steps taken to promote work experience in their review of curricular arrangements—circular 14/77. When the replies have been analysed, I shall consider whether further action is necessary.
