§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Transport when he last had a representative on the board of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents; if he will explain why the representative left; and if he will explain how the interests of his Department and scrutiny of the £250,000 grant are maintained.
§ Mr. HoramMy right hon. Friend is still represented on the society's executive committee by an Under-Secretary. In addition, officials attend meetings of the management and finance committee by invitation and also represent us on the appropriate committees concerned with road safety. These and other contacts enable us to ensure that the society provides the services in this field for which grant is paid.
