asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the total value of the works of art which have been exported from Great Britain since May of the current year.

The value of United Kingdom exports of works of art is published against SITC(Rev 2) items 896.01 (paintings, drawings and pastels), 896.02 (original engravings, prints and lithographs) and 896.03 (original sculptures and statuary) in table VI of the monthly issues of the "Overseas Trade Statistics of the United Kingdom", copies of which are in the Library.
