§ Mr. Michael MarshallBSC announced on 11 December that it wished to reduce capacity at Llanwern and Port Talbot to relate to a liquid steel tonnage at or around 2¾ million tonnes. BSC does not expect supplies of steel for Trostre and Velindre to be affected by the outcome of its discussions on this reduction.

Approval was also given to the decision proposed by the Commission to regulate state aids to the steel industry.
