§ Mr. Richard Shepherdasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the total amount of levies on imported food paid to the European Economic Community since Great Britain joined the Community.
§ Mr. Lawson[pursuant to his reply,20 December 1979]: The total amount of levies on imported food paid by the United Kingdom to the EEC up to the end of 1979 is estimated to be £million. In this period total gross contributions by the United Kingdom and the other acceding member States have been subject to the transitional arrangements provided for in the Treaty of Accession.
