HC Deb 21 December 1979 vol 976 c458W
Mr. Bradford

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) if he will ensure that the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973 will not be used as the basis for any future constitutional proposals that he proposes;

(2) when the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973 will be repealed.

Mr. Humphrey Atkins

The aim of the forthcoming political conference is to reach the highest level of agreement on new governmental arrangements for Northern Ireland. It will be for the conference to consider whether any provisions of the 1973 Act should form part of those arrangements.
