§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeWe are reviewing the timing of all schemes in the trunk road programme, as part of our commitment to contain public expenditure. Revised proposals will be published in a White Paper in due course and it will then be possible to give an indication of possible starting dates for trunk road projects. Meanwhile, I am looking forward to receiving a deputation led by my hon. Friend the Member for Hove (Mr. Sainsbury) on the subject of this bypass.
