Mr. Jim Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what action is being taken on the findings of the Royal College of Art report on design in general education, funded by his Department.
§ Dr. BoysonIt is for local education authorities, schools and colleges, together with other organisations concerned with design education, to take account of the results of particular studies in this field including that undertaken by the Royal College of Art. Her Majesty's inspectors have recently published a working paper on craft, design and technology in the "11–16 Curriculum" series; and the Design Council has circulated widely a consultative document "Design Education at Secondary Level".
