§ Mr. Craigenasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, further to the reply given to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Maryhill, Official Report, 18 June, column 393, what is his forecast for the rate of inflation on 3 May 1980 and 3 May 1981.
§ Mr. Lawson[pursuant to his reply, 13 December 1979]: The Industry Act forecast published last month indicated that retail prices might rise by about 14 per cent. in the year to the fourth quarter of 1980. I do not intend to publish a forecast path for inflation in the intervening period, nor for subsequent quarters.
