§ Mr. Ashleyasked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) if he will include clarification of the law in regard to building societies legislation in his discussions with the Director General of Fair Trading about testing consumer law;
(2) what discussions he has had with the Director General of Fair Trading about testing consumer law regarding building societies; what conclusions were reached; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mrs. Sally OppenheimI have had no discussions with the Director General about testing consumer law regarding building societies and I have no plans for such discussions.
