Mr. Fry

asked the Minister of Transport how many fatal, serious and slight casualties, respectively, have occurred on the Winchester bypass since the inquiry into the M3 extension, opened, closed, the inspector submitted his report, and he made his decision on the report, respectively.

The following figures relate to the length of the trunk road A33 from its junction with the Kings-worthy Road (B3047) to Compton. The numbers of casualties between 29 June 1976, when the M3 public inquiry opened, and the end of July 1979, when the inspector's report was received, are as follows:
