§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Industry what was the crude steel production of each member country of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development during each year since 1975.
§ Mr. Michael MarshallThe information is as follows:
reply to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Ardwick, Official Report, 12 December, column 1310, he will now arrange to present a Government report 55W to Parliament on the Post Office industrial democracy experiment.
§ Sir Keith JosephThe right hon. Member for Manchester, Ardwick (Mr. Kaufman) himself suggested
Perhaps the most appropriate way to handle this would be for the Chairman of the Post Office to provide my right hon. Friend with a report on the operation of the experiment, which would be made available to Parliament.—[Official Report, 27 June 1977; Vol. 934, c. 77.]I concur with that approach. The chairman wrote to me on 15 November 1979 enclosing copies of the minutes recording the board's discussions on 4 September and 6 November. These recorded that there was no consensus of view about the future of the experiment. As I promised the House, I have placed copies of those documents, as finally agreed, in the Library of the House. I have also placed in the Library, with the consent of the Post Office and the Council of Post Office Unions, a copy of the Warwick University report which was commissioned by those parties.
