§ Mr. Buckasked the Minister for the Civil Service if he intends to give guidance to Departments on the practices they 2W should follow for paying people money to which they are legally entitled.
§ Mr. ChannonA report is being published today containing guidance on this subject. It is called "Legal Entitlements and Administrative Practices" and has been written by an inter-departmental group of officials. The Government have approved the guidance recommended in the report. Departments will now review their practices in the light of those recommendations. Copies of the report are being placed in the Library.
