HC Deb 17 December 1979 vol 976 cc82-3W
Mr. Hannam

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, under the Resource Allocation Working Party formula, additional resources are being made available to the Stoke Mandeville national spinal injuries centre from other regions it serves; and, if so, how much was provided in 1978–79.

Dr. Vaughan

Oxford regional health authority's allocation for 1978–79 took account of in-patients from outside the region treated at Stoke Mandeville and other hospitals in the region. This is consistent with the formula recommended by the Resource Allocation Working Party for fixing target allocations, but the adjustment to the target in respect of particular hospitals cannot be separately identified on information held centrally. I have, however, announced that an appropriate amount in respect of the national spinal injuries centre should be separately identified in future within the health authority's target allocations.
