§ Mr. Altonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider repealing section 80 of the Local Government Act 1972, which disqualifies teachers from standing for election as local councillors in the area where they work.
§ Mr. KingI have no proposals for amending those provisions of the Local Government Act 1972 which disqualify local government employees from election to the council which employs them.
