asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will now make a forecast of inflation during 1980 in the light of the latest information available to him.

The Government's forecast was published on 22 November.

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the current rate of price inflation.

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the current rate of inflation and how it compares with inflation rates in other EEC countries.

asked the Secretary of State for Trade by what percentage the rate of inflation, as shown by the retail price index, has risen since 3 May.

The retail price index has risen by17.4 per cent. over the past 12 months, and by 10.1 per cent. since May. With permission, I shall circulate the inflation figures for the other EEC member States in theOfficial Report.
