§ Mr. Dykesasked the Minister of Transport what plans he has to encourage local authorities with traffic management responsibilities to make greater use of the provisions of the Heavy Commercial Vehicles Act 1973 to restrain the movement of heavy lorries.
§ Mr. FowlerIt is for local authorities to determine what use should be made of these powers, taking account, as they are required to do, of both amenity and the needs of traffic.
