§ Mr. Marksasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will open negotiations with the other members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation to reduce the United Kingdom's share of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military and civil budgets on the grounds that the United Kingdom contributes more than any other European member and that this contribution is based on an out-of-date calculation of ability to pay.
