§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Trade, pursuant to his reply of 30 November to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East, when he expects to remake the regulations under the Consumer Safety Act 1978; and which bodies he will consult.
§ Mrs. Sally OppenheimA draft directive amending the adopted EEC directive on cosmetics—76/768/EEC—at present being considered by an economic questions working group of the Council of Ministers, is expected to be adopted during 1980. In implementing this directive I intend to remake the Cosmetics Products Regulations 1978 under the Consumer Safety Act. All interested bodies will be consulted, including consumer and safety organisations, manufacturers and trade associations, medical bodies and the local authority associations.
