§ Mr. PrenticeThe 25p age addition for retirement pensioners aged 80 or over was introduced in September 1971. On the basis of the movement in the General Index of Retail Prices between September 1971 and October 1979, the latest date for which a figure is available, the age addition would have to be increased to 73p to restore its original value.
