§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what saving is made to the Exchequer by referring hon. Members to publications which are not readily available instead of providing the information asked for; and if he is satisfied that any such saving caused justifies the inconvenience to hon. Members and to others who rely on the Official Report for information.
§ Sir Geoffrey HoweSince considerable resources are already committed to the publication of statistics for the use of Members and the general public, I would not feel justified in reproducing in theOfficial Report information that can be readily obtained or derived from United Kingdom and international statistical publications. If hon. Members experience difficulty in obtaining particular information I am always ready to try to help if they care to write to me.
