§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the total cost to central Government of subsidies paid towards the cost of civil aviation in Scotland.
§ Mr. TebbitQuestions about subsidy for air services in Scotland should be addressed to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland; but the grant-in-aid to the Civil Aviation Authority is in part attributable to the losses sustained on its aerodromes in Scotland. In 1978–79 the operating loss was £1,964,000 and the interest payable was £1,123,000.
