§ Mr. MayhewThe chairman of the Health and Safety Commission has provided me with the figures in the table below. Before 1978, some inspectorates compiled figures annually only. From 1978, the figures include accidents in the field covered by the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, not reportable under previous legislation. An estimate for 1978 excluding these "new entrants" is shown in the table for comparability.
