§ Mr. Lawson[pursuant to his reply, 12 November 1979, c. 422]:For the years 1978 and 1979 the information requested is shown in the following table. Disproportionate expenditure of time and resources would be involved in producing equivalent figures for the years 1976 and 1977, when different conventions were used by the Commission of the European Communities to account for contributions by member States. From 1978 the accounting conventions were revised under the financial regulation of 21 December 1977.
that on the basis of the October trade figures Great Britain is now a net importer of manufactured goods.
