The Attorney-GeneralThe Director of Public Prosecutions has received 10 applications for consent to proceedings under the Act from the following.
Local councils—4, none granted.
National Coal Board—1, not granted.
Private individuals—3, none granted.
Chief officers of police—2, one granted, one prosecuted by the Director.
The Director also consented to proceedings by police under the Act in respect of another matter referred to him as possibly constituting a different offence.
